Appleton Piling Ltd has an increasing portfolio of Railway Work.

We have recently carried out a number of sheet piling schemes adjacent to live railways across the United Kingdom.

Railway work, by its nature, can be very inaccessible. We are regularly involved at the early stages to give input to the proposed sheet piling scheme with particular regard to access requirements, methodology and feasibility costs.

We have installed sheet piles to form permanent works solutions to stabilise railway embankments, form edge stabilisation to road embankment construction and to form permanent basement construction adjacent to Network Rail, Docklands Light Railway and London Underground railways and properties.

Our silent and vibration free system of sheet pile installation is especially suited to the sensitive environment typical of railway works. The ability to install sheet piles in a vibration free manner allows the safe installation of retaining wall structures in unstable embankments without causing further damage to the embankment.

The pile pressing system also ensures that each sheet pile is hydraulically clamped in position during installation, in many cases allowing approval for the installation works to proceed in close proximity to live railway traffic.

We work closely with the approved Principal Contractors to ensure all the Health & Safety requirements are in place prior to and during the works.
